The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join the Freedom Development team. This role is integral to the successful delivery of their projects, ranging from civil and vertical construction to the development of village centres. You will support the Chief Development Officer and Development Team across all project phases—from feasibility and planning to completion and long-term maintenance. For the right individual, this role offers a unique opportunity for career advancement, with the potential to evolve into a Development Manager position as you contribute to their continued success and expansion.

Please note, this role is based in Tauranga however will require occasional travel with some overnight stays where your allocated project is located.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act in the best interests of the projects and the company while adhering to their core values.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and partners.
- Assist in feasibility studies, project planning, budget development, risk management, and procurement strategies.
- Manage and plan both horizontal and vertical construction projects to meet time, budget, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Oversee design processes, procurement of contractors, and project delivery phases, including variation and cost control.
- Monitor project progress, resolve disputes, and manage documentation and completion phases.
- Provide regular status reports and support Village Management staff with remedial and refurbishment works post-handover.
- Manage project-related invoicing and expenditures.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Solid demonstratable experience in project management within the NZ construction industry.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
- Understanding of construction management and contracts such as NZS 3910.
- Collaborative team player with a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Unrestricted driver’s licence.
