We’re working with a well-established busy industrial engineering business that has an opening for a dedicated Health & Safety Compliance officer to take ownership of their Health & Safety functions.
This role is giving you the opportunity to step in and shape, refine, and embed a practical, user-friendly H&S system across the business.
You’ll be working with solid foundations already in place — the focus is on coordination, implementation, continuous improvement, and supporting the wider team to ensure everything is running effectively and consistently.
The role involves:

This role is giving you the opportunity to step in and shape, refine, and embed a practical, user-friendly H&S system across the business.
You’ll be working with solid foundations already in place — the focus is on coordination, implementation, continuous improvement, and supporting the wider team to ensure everything is running effectively and consistently.
The role involves:
- Coordinating and managing the company’s Health & Safety programme
- Reviewing, improving, and embedding existing H&S systems and processes
- Supporting Project/Job Managers and staff with JSA reports and site-specific documentation
- Running safety meetings, audits, and site inspections
- Identifying risks and implementing corrective actions and follow-ups
- Providing practical H&S guidance to project teams across active sites
- Maintaining accurate records of inspections, reports, and compliance activity
- Assisting with the rollout of SOPs and compliance procedures
- Coordinating training programmes alongside the admin team
- Maintaining a regular on-site presence to support teams where needed
- Experience in Health & Safety within engineering, construction, or a similar environment
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and compliance requirements
- Practical, hands-on approach — able to work with both site teams and management
- Confident communicator who can guide, influence, and support others
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working across both office and site environments
- Able to build systems that are practical, not overly complicated
- Mechanical or Electrical aptitude would be a big advantage with regards to Mech/electrical & vehicle compliance
