- Sanderson Group - main contractor and developer - unique position
- Puke based position - Consents issued, ground works underway
- Perm role with over 5 + years to run on the project
Our client, The Sanderson Group are pioneers in the retirement village sector. NZ owned and operated they have a long history and strong reputation for delivering beautifully designed, luxury retirement properties and other commercial developments throughout New Zealand.
The Hill Pukekohe will be a $250m + development and Sanderson Group's first retirement village in the Auckland region, providing the luxury standard of retirement living synonymous with Sanderson Group villages. The village will comprise of communal resident facilities such as a large clubhouse featuring a movie theatre, library, piano lounge, billiards room, bowling green, and croquet lawn. Additionally, there will be a health spa (equipped with a gym, sauna, and swimming pool), a hobby shed and a cafe/delicatessen located on site. There will also be 125 homes alongside an 11-bed rest home facility, all spread across a 10.7-hectare site.
The Role
As the QS on The Hill, you will work closely with and report to the Lead Project Manager for the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. We are seeking an intermediate level QS with solid NZ experience on multi residential and commercial projects working in a main commercial contractor to become part of the cohesive and professional team. This position will see the successful candidate thriving in a project focused role with the ability to be totally hands on. You will be responsible for preparing and managing cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for the project, along with full contract administration duties, budget comparisons, tender analysis of sub-contractors, sub-contractor agreements, variations and preparation of budgets.

Skills & experience
- The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the main contracting New Zealand market, ideally within commercial construction.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office suite.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with suppliers.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in financial and project reporting.
- Positive Attitude: A can-do attitude with a commitment to creating a win-win environment for all project stakeholders.
- Personality: A genuine, honest, and team-oriented individual.
- Legal Requirements: Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
