Our client is gearing up for their next major development a 220+ dwelling retirement community plus a new community centre in Masterton.
- Kicking off early 2026
- Motivated Site Manager to handle all Electrical installs over the coming years
- They are aligned with a very successful Developer and main contractor
We're seeking a motivated Electrical Site Manager to take the lead on this large-scale residential–commercial project. This is a long-term role offering stability, autonomy, and the chance to be part of a significant development from the ground up.
The Role
As Site Manager, you’ll be the key on-the-ground contact for all things electrical. Reporting to the main contractor's Ops Manager you’ll oversee everything from civil and fibre installation to housing, fit-offs and final commissioning.
You’ll work closely with the main builder, sub-trades, and your small on-site team to keep the program on track, maintain quality standards, and ensure Health & Safety best practice every step of the way.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
You’ll have a solid background in electrical including supervision or foreman positions, ideally with experience running medium-to-large multi-unit housing projects or village developments.
You’re organised, calm under pressure, and enjoy leading from the front – the kind of person who can keep trades, schedules, and client expectations aligned.

The Role
As Site Manager, you’ll be the key on-the-ground contact for all things electrical. Reporting to the main contractor's Ops Manager you’ll oversee everything from civil and fibre installation to housing, fit-offs and final commissioning.
You’ll work closely with the main builder, sub-trades, and your small on-site team to keep the program on track, maintain quality standards, and ensure Health & Safety best practice every step of the way.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Managing scheduling, resources, and progress across multiple dwellings (approx. 10+ units in progress at a time)
- Coordinating civil, housing, and service stages – trenching, fibre, mains, fit-offs, etc.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, reporting, and communication with head office
- Ensuring Health & Safety compliance and promoting a proactive safety culture
- Liaising with builders, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure milestones are met
- Overseeing one to two electricians initially, with the team growing as the project ramps up
- 60% management & coordination
- 40% hands on the tools & site support
You’ll have a solid background in electrical including supervision or foreman positions, ideally with experience running medium-to-large multi-unit housing projects or village developments.

You’ll bring:
- Experience managing large residential or mixed-use sites
- Knowledge of civil or fibre installation (training can be provided)
- Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills
- Commitment to Health & Safety and quality workmanship
- A practical, hands-on attitude with the ability to make decisions on the fly
- $42–$45/hr, depending on experience plus vehicle, phone, tech
- Time-and-a-half after 45 hours
- 3–4 years of steady work on a landmark development
- Supportive management and well-established systems
- Potential for ongoing opportunities across other village projects nationwide
