NZ Structural Engineering Manager - Auckland

We’re seeking an accomplished Structural Lead to play a pivotal role in expanding and shaping the structural engineering capability within a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy. This leadership position will suit someone looking to take ownership of the NZ structural offering — developing client relationships, leading projects, and mentoring a growing local team.

You will have the scope to influence strategy, strengthen client partnerships, and deliver a range of challenging commercial projects across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver multiple structural design projects from concept through to construction monitoring.
• Manage project scope, financial performance, quality assurance, and risk.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to ongoing business development.
• Oversee and mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical and professional growth.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated, innovative design outcomes.

About You

• BE (Civil) with Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
• Registered to sign Auckland Producer Statements.
• 8+ years’ experience in structural design and project delivery, ideally within a NZ consulting environment.
• Strong working knowledge of NZ design codes and local standards.
• Proficiency with analysis and design software (e.g. ETABS, SAP2000 or similar).
• Proven leadership ability, excellent communication, and commercial awareness.
