About the Business

Our client owns a successful group of New Zealand businesses operating across manufacturing, importing, industrial supply, distribution and property.

This is a hands-on role supporting the owners with financial reporting, analysis and commercial decision-making. It offers genuine variety and flexibility, with the opportunity to become a trusted part of the business rather than simply preparing month-end reports.

About the Role

Working closely with the Managing Directors, you'll assist with a range of financial and commercial activities including:

• Monthly management reporting
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Cashflow monitoring
• Financial analysis and reporting
• Assisting with business planning and decision-making
• Liaising with accountants, banks and external advisors
• Improving reporting processes where appropriate
• Providing practical financial insights to support the business

No two weeks are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and being involved in the day-to-day running of a business.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working alongside business owners and can confidently manage the financial reporting requirements of a growing business.

Ideally you'll have:

• Experience in management accounting or commercial accounting
• Good budgeting and cashflow skills
• Strong Excel skills
• The ability to explain financial information in a practical, easy-to-understand way
• A proactive, organised approach

We're less concerned about formal qualifications than we are about finding someone who is commercially aware, personable and enjoys working with people.

Experience within manufacturing, importing, distribution or inventory-based businesses would be an advantage but isn't essential.
