Job TypeFull Time
Experienced construction professional to take ownership of a new regional operation and build it from the ground up
- Build a regional operation backed by an established North Island contractor
- Competitive salary + vehicle + performance-based incentive
- Identifying, pursuing and securing new project opportunities
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced construction professional to take ownership of a new regional operation and build it from the ground up.
An established and successful commercial landscaping contractor is expanding its presence across the central North Island and is seeking a Waikato/BOP Regional Manager, preferably based in Hamilton.
This isn't a role where you'll inherit an established branch and simply manage what's already there.
You'll be responsible for building the operation – developing relationships, identifying and securing opportunities, overseeing project delivery and gradually establishing the people, subcontractors and resources required to support a growing regional business.
The longer-term objective is to develop a significant Waikato/BOP operation with its own team, projects, client base and P&L.
You'll have the support and resources of an established Auckland operation behind you, including estimating, commercial, administration and operational capability, while having considerable autonomy over the development of your region.
The Role
Initially, this will be a hands-on position combining business development, project leadership and operational management.
You'll be responsible for:
You don't necessarily need to come from landscaping.
You could currently be working as a Senior Project Manager, Contracts Manager, Construction Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager or Senior Civil Project Manager.
Your experience may have been gained in commercial landscaping, civil construction, land development, infrastructure, drainage, subdivisions, streetscapes or another specialist construction environment.
What matters is that you understand commercial construction, people and projects – and know how to build relationships and create opportunities.
You'll ideally bring:
Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, sees opportunities and makes things happen.
What's On Offer
This role offers something quite different from a typical Regional Manager position.
You'll have the opportunity to operate with much of the autonomy and ownership of building your own business, without having to do it alone.
You'll have established systems, expertise, resources and financial backing behind you, while having the freedom to shape and grow the Waikato/BOP operation.
The package will reflect the seniority of the appointment and is expected to include:
Competitive base salary + vehicle + performance-based incentive
For the right person, there is also scope to discuss an incentive structure directly linked to the growth and profitability of the regional operation.
If you've reached the point in your career where you're ready for more ownership and want the opportunity to build something rather than simply manage it, we'd like to hear from you.
All enquiries and applications will be treated in strict confidence.
