Our client has built a reputation as one of New Zealand's most progressive civil contractors, delivering award-winning infrastructure projects that make a genuine difference to communities across the country.
With a strong pipeline of work throughout the Waikato and surrounding regions, we're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside highly experienced Project Managers and Site Teams, taking ownership of the technical delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects while continuing to develop your career.
The Role
Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day engineering support to site teams
- Coordinating survey and set out requirements
- Managing quality assurance documentation and ITPs
- Monitoring project progress, programme and productivity
- Resolving technical issues and reviewing drawings and specifications
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and procurement
- Preparing RFIs, as-builts and project documentation
- Assisting with cost control, forecasting and reporting
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders
- Promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture
About You
You'll be a motivated civil engineer who enjoys being on site and taking ownership of project delivery.
Ideally you'll have:
- 3+ years' experience as a Project or Site Engineer within civil construction
- Experience across land development, three waters, structures, rail or major infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of NZ construction methodologies and quality systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams
- A relevant Civil Engineering qualification
- Full New Zealand working rights
