Senior Structural Engineer | Lead Projects | Pathway to Shareholding

A respected Christchurch structural consultancy is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer who can take ownership of projects, manage risk, and play a key role in shaping the future of the business.

This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, communicates well with clients and contractors, and wants the autonomy to deliver projects their way. The practice works across a diverse range of projects including commercial, residential and heritage work, offering strong technical variety and exposure.

Beyond technical delivery, this opportunity offers a genuine pathway toward leadership and future shareholder involvement for the right person.

The Role
You will take the lead on structural projects from concept through to construction, working closely with clients, architects and contractors while mentoring junior engineers within the team.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead structural design and delivery across a range of commercial, residential and heritage projects
• Manage client relationships, project communication and technical risk
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the Christchurch team

What We’re Looking For
• 7+ years’ NZ experience working in a structural engineering consultancy environment
• Strong structural design capability and ability to run projects end-to-end
• Someone proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership
• CPEng (or close).
