Senior Engineering Geologist

We’re representing a well-established engineering consultancy with a strong forward workload across major commercial developments and critical infrastructure projects. They’re seeking a Senior Engineering Geologist who can combine deep technical expertise with strong project management capability.

This is a role for someone with 6–12+ years’ experience, a BE or BSc and Master’s in Engineering Geology, who enjoys leading investigations, guiding junior staff, and providing sound geological insight that underpins complex design work. You’ll work across large-scale buildings, transport, and infrastructure developments in a collaborative and technically capable team.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience in NZ managing and delivering site investigations across commercial and infrastructure sectors.
• Strong grounding in structural geology, geomorphology, and engineering geology principles.
• Excellent technical reporting, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with designers and contractors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, ensuring technical clarity and project efficiency.
• A proactive, quality-focused mindset and commercial awareness in delivering practical, value-driven outcomes.
